Invited to create an original piece for the Artist Alcove at Frye Art Museum, I worked with a ten year personal collection of found and cherished rocks, shells, and other objects, assembling a sculpture that explores how imbuing found objects with meaning inherently challenges traditional/capitalist definitions of worth.

Exercise in Letting Go (What we Choose to Hold) is a love letter to the act of looking down at the ground, finding reasons to cherish what is already here, keeping reminders of that feeling in our pockets, on our shelves, at the bottoms of our bags. I believe this guides us toward a different way of living in and loving our world.
